lovingkindness;
Leader: He satisfies you with good things, and your youth is renewed like an eagle’s.
People: The Lord executes righteousness and judgment for all who are oppressed.
Leader: He made his ways known to Moses and his works to the children of Israel.
People: The Lord is full of compassion and mercy, slow to anger and of great kindness.
Leader: For as the heavens are high above the earth, so is his mercy great upon those who
fear him.
People: As a father cares for his children, so does the Lord care for those who fear him.
SONG: “Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus”
1) Stand up, stand up for Jesus, As soldiers of the cross, Lift high his royal banner; It
must not suffer loss. From victory unto victory His army he shall lead, Till every foe
is vanquished And Christ is Lord indeed.
2) Stand up, stand up for Jesus; The trumpet call obey; Stand forth in mighty conflict In this his glorious day. Let all his faithful serve him Against unnumbered foes; Let
courage rise with danger, And strength to strength oppose.
3) Stand up, stand up for Jesus; Stand in his strength alone; The arm of flesh will fail
you, You dare not trust your own. Put on the Gospel armor; Each peace put on with
prayer. Where duty calls or danger, Be never wanting there.
4) Stand up, stand up for Jesus, The strife will not be long; This day the din of battle,
The next the victor’s song. The soldiers, overcoming, Their crown of life shall see,
And with the King of glory Shall reign eternally.

Leader: Have mercy on us, Lord; make sin and shame depart.
People: Renew us with your saving power; create in us new hearts!

PRAISE SONG: “Shout To The Lord”
All: My Jesus, my savior, Lord there is none like you. All of my days, I want to praise the wonders of your mighty love. My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength; let every breath, all that I am never cease to worship you.
Shout to the Lord all the earth; let us sing power and majesty, praise to the King.
Mountains bow down and the sea will roar at the sound of your name. I sing for joy at the work of your hands; forever I’ll love you, forever I’ll stand. Nothing compares with the promise I have in you.
(sing the whole thing twice)

HOLY SCRIPTURE: St. Matthew 18:21-35

APOSTLE’S CREED:
Leader: God has made us his people through our baptism into Christ, living together in trust and hope, we confess our faith…
All: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
LORD’S PRAYER:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
