GREETING, DIALOGUE, AND CONFESSION OF FAITH:
Leader: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy
Spirit be with you all.
People: And also with you.
Leader: You are a treasured people of the Lord.
People: A people holy to the Lord our God.
Leader: Keep the words of the Lord in your heart; teach them to your children.
People: Talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie
down and when you rise.
Leader: One does not live by bread alone,
People: But by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
Leader: God has made us his people through our baptism into Christ. Living together in trust and hope we confess our faith…
People: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the holy
Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

PRAISE SONG: “I Will Call Upon the Lord”
I will call upon the Lord (I will call upon the Lord) who is worthy to be praised (who is
worthy to be praised) So shall I be saved from my enemies (so shall I be saved from my enemies)
I will call upon the Lord.
I will call upon the Lord (I will call upon the Lord) who is worthy to be praised (who is
worthy to be praised) So shall I be saved from my enemies (so shall I be saved from my enemies)
I will call upon the Lord.
The Lord liveth and blessed be the rock and may the God of my salvation be exalted.
The Lord liveth and blessed be the rock and may the God of my salvation be exalted.
(Now repeat the whole thing)
HOLY GOSPEL: St. Matthew 20:1-16
PRAYER OF THE DAY:
Leader: Let us all pray together,
All: Almighty and eternal God, you show perpetual lovingkindness to us your servants. Because we cannot rely on our own abilities, grant us your merciful judgment, and train us to embody the generosity of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
MESSAGE
SONG OF THE DAY: “Shine, Jesus, Shine”
Refrain: Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory;
Blaze Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire.
Flow, river, flow flood the nations with love and mercy;
Send forth your Word, Lord, and let there be light!

1) Lord, the light of your love is shining, in the midst of the darkness, shining;
Jesus, light of the world, shine upon us, set us free by the truth you now bring us.
Shine on me, shine on me:
2) As we gaze on your kingly brightness, so our faces display your likeness;
Ever changing from glory to glory, mirrored here, may our lives tell your story:
Shine on me, shine on me:
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
LORD’S PRAYER:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
BENEDICTION
CLOSING SONG: “Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone”
Amazing grace How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found Was blind, but now I see
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed
My chains are gone I’ve been set free, My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains, Unending love, Amazing grace
The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be, As long as life endures
My chains are gone, I’ve been set free, My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains, Unending love, Amazing grace
My chains are gone, I’ve been set free, My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains, Unending love, Amazing grace
The Earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine, You are forever mine
